Legacy Parkway!!!!! Yeah!!!!

Well this past weekend the Legacy Parkway has FINALLY opened up for traffic between the Lagoon and the Salt Lake Valley. This was a long time in coming (No thanks to the Sierra Club and the pompous wind-bag Rocky "the rocket scientist, squirrel, whatever..." Anderson). Thanks to the lawsuits and delays the traffic flow between Layton and Salt Lake City at most times was bumper-to-bumper. It took, most of the time, from Salt Lake City to the HWY-89 exit North of Lagoon an average of 35-40 minutes. I don’t really want to talk about the pompous wind-bag or the little animals above humans club. Well yesterday came and WOW!!!!! The commute in on Monday was less than 20 minutes from Lagoon to 400 South in Salt Lake City. On the way home, I left my office near 200 East 200 South in Salt Lake at 5:00 p.m. and got to Harrison and 5700 South in Ogden by 5:55 p.m. AAHHHH! What a breath of fresh air… About time Northern Utah residents have a real alternate route to go home on. (Without having to move to Salt Lake like the pompous wind-bag would have wanted.)

One of our readers told me today that he rode his bike along the green belt that followed the freeway.  Sounds pretty nice.

To bad the hippies had to delay this for everyone for so long.

And do we need to remind everybody that the Green Libs said that Frontrunner would fix the traffic problem in Davis County? I find it interresting that yesterday evening the commute from Salt Lake to Farmington was 16 minutes (on I-15) when before it was about 42 minutes (even after Frontrunner was operational).

Legacy cost us millions more than it should have becasue of  Rocky and his group they wanted front runner and that has had little impact on the gridlock. front runner opens and has a huge impact on the 1st day it is open not a little impact but a huge impact. I live in Woods Cross and when we would go to the grocery store at 7pm any night of the week the I-15 would still be backed up at 7pm! The last couple of nights we have taken a ride to see what is happening and traffic was going freeway speeds, at 5:30pm traffic was going freeway speeds at a time it normally is backed up. When traffic is going freeway speeds it there is less pollution than when cars are stuck in Traffic.

There is little tolerance for dissent in this country.  There were legitimate differences of opinion and people used the systems provided for them to protest and try to put their point across.

Democracy is a messy business and intolerance of the process is yet another nail in the coffin of a free state.  We did not have the discussion we should have had about the Iraq war and now we have spent nearly a trillion dollars trying to stop a mere 6,000 men who were not even in the country when we attacked. Had we had an open discussion we might still have the trillion dollars. It sure would have come in handy to help the country during this republican caused economic meltdown we are experiencing.

If you read the founding fathers, you will notice that they were fans of checks and balances on unrestrained power, since the republicans came to power they misinterpreted the check to mean a financial instrument and gave way to many to their friends and allies, and of course they can balance like a drunk walking a straight line for a policeman.

We need to get back and be true to our principles before it is too late.

I was coming back from Ogden the other day and tried to get on the LP, there wasn't even a place to turn on.  There was a big sign, but no entrance.  Next thing you know I'm driving down I-15 parallel to LP.

Oh, well.. I'll have to try it again
