I read on CNN today that “Federal regulators converted Wall Street's remaining stand-alone investment banks, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, into bank holding companies Sunday night. What that means, reports CNNMoney.com, is the end of the era of the Wall Street investment bank, a storied institution that traded stocks and bonds, advised mergers and showered lavish bonuses on executives.” http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/21/news/companies/goldman_morgan/index.htm

Ok, in addition to buying everyone out, they took Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley off the market? What do you do if you are a business and over the weekend, the fed steps in and tells you that you can't do business that way anymore? Instead they want to help you do business and watch over your shoulder as you do business? Why don't they just federalized them also? They are as good as there anyhow.

Then at the end of the story, they hint at major banks that are likely to be targets of the Fed. [Wachovia, Morgan Stanley]

Are we living through the first steps towards the fed taking over our entire financial system and commerce? At what point do they step in and tell us to get in like to get a chip? If you were not aware, there are already companies developing chip technology that would likely be sufficient to also handle commerce.

It's interesting that our military, by direction of President Bush, has been attacking terrorist cells around the world and yet, we've had the largest cell in Denver this past week and he's done nothing about it? Maybe I should join in the impeach Bush retoric since it appears he really is incapable of ridding the world of terrorist.
